Differences Between Live and Online Poker

Poker Players often wonder if they choose the right location to win the most money. You might wonder if you´re missing out on the high roller casino if you are playing poker at home. If you are playing in an german Online casino you may wonder if the game is taking ridiculously long compared to a normal poker game.

When playing poker you can never fully prevent online poker fraud, collaborating or even blatant theft, so it's generally always safer to bet live. With live poker, you need to have a tremendous amount of skill and organization to pull something off without the mark noticing. But on the internet very minimal preparation is needed. For an online pokergame all you need is to have three laptops in a frat house basement and you have a scam going for every new player that wanders into the poker room. You are generally always safer when you can see the players right in front of you.

The good thing with online poker is you can play more hands online then in a normal poker game. The more hands a player can play, the more money he can win at a poker game. Also you can play with your virtual friends online without having to meet them in a multiplayer card room. And if you have a smartphone, you can also play or learn poker online while you are waiting for the bus.

The other thing is when you play online poker, you don´t have the chance to read the other players face. Some players are really good in reading poker faces so that is definitely better with live poker. For a good poker game, facial expressions, tonality body language and everything else are very important to determine what kind of player someone is.

On the other hand, when you play online poker, your schedule is much more flexible, you can have a break whenever you want. You can technically take a break at casinos, but it’s less convenient and you can’t really unwind like you would on your front porch with an easychair and lemonade. Also, whether you’re an early bird or a night lark, online gives you the ability to play whenever you want to. There is no doubt, that you can be totally flexible with online poker.

The fun factor is a big and important part of online Poker. While some people love the online game, for others it is just lame spending up to eight hours a day by yourself staring at a screen. In person, you get the thrills, the chills, the drama, and everything else that makes poker exciting. In the end live poker is better for quality and online poker is better for quantity. But if you earn $ 5000 more every month with online poker then it doesn´t matter to you if you are bored with your laptop. You should always consider your own personal situation whenever making decisions about your poker gaming.

Online Poker Tips

Online Poker Tips

Online poker has firmly established itself as one of the most popular types of casino card game on the internet. Attracting novice and professional players alike, online poker is a fast, fun and convenient alternative to live games. Although many live game players frequent the leading poker sites, the online version of the game is somewhat different. Provided below are several tips for improving players` chances of succeeding at online poker.

Do Not `Tilt` or `Steam`

Experienced online poker players understand that not every hand can go their way. Sometimes even the strongest of hands can be destroyed on the river, as so-called `newbies` fish for flushes, straights and quads. Short of cosying up to a Leprechaun, nobody can avoid every bad beat, but players can control how they respond to chronic misfortune.

When suffering a bad run of luck or form, many players tend to tilt - a term used to describe a situation in which a player bets sub-optimally after becoming frustrated or upset at a table. If a player steams, he or she is tilting in an especially aggressive manner. In online poker, bad beats occur frequently and players must learn to cope with them by maintaining self-control and playing a tight, logical game at all times. Fortunes are prone to change, so riding out a poor spell without losing too many chips is important for making long-term gains.

Play Tight

Allied to the first tip, players should adopt a tight-yet-flexible approach to online poker. Poor hands should be folded more often than not, while strong hands should not be played too aggressively. Folding six low-value hands in a row before going all-in with pocket aces, for example, is likely to prompt other players to fold at the earliest opportunity. Strong positions also should be managed in accordance with the styles of other players in order to maximise returns.

Auto-check

Most online poker sites provide a facility for automatic checking, folding and betting. When players tick the option for auto-check, it is usually - but by no means always - the case that they are fishing with a poor hand. This can provide useful information to any player with a reasonably good hand. Auto-checks are usually betrayed by the rapid checking of each player. On this note, it is also advantageous to avoid using auto-check so as to give little away to other players.

Take Notes

People take notes when they play online roulette and blackjack but taking notes is especially important in online poker because tells are usually more difficult to read. Reading how others play the game aids decision-making in contested hands; for example, knowing who tends to fold a reasonably good hand under pressure and who plays aggressively with a bad one can improve a player`s understanding of a table. It is also worth identifying the style of play before committing to big bets.

Finally, people who play online poker tend to play other types of casino game, such as blackjack and bingo. Before experimenting with new games, players ought to look out for special offers, house deals and bingo bonus codes to maximise their chances of winning.

Online Poker Petition

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has sent out a request to all its members to sign an online poker petition at the "We the People Petition" website. I would ask that anyone who believes in Americans freedom to fund and play online poker sign the petition. It only takes a minute of your time. Please, don't be one to sit idly by and do nothing....stand up and let your voice be heard.

Directions on how to sign the "We the People Petition"

We the People is a new addition to the White House website that allows Americans to petition the Obama Administration on a range of issues. Per the site, “if a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it is sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.”

The site is getting a lot of traffic, so you may get either a "site is under maintenance" or a "404 not found" message. Just try it a few times and you'll get through. Even with this slight delay, it should take only a few minutes to complete:
  1. Go HERE and click "CREATE AN ACCOUNT."
  2. The site will send a confirmation email. Click on the link in that email to continue.
  3. Click "✓ SIGN THIS PETITION" to vote (if you are not redirected automatically, go HERE to vote). (Please note that even if you sign the petition you can voluntarily exclude yourself from receiving emails and information from the White House.)
  4. Send a prefilled, editable Twitter message to invite others to sign this petition HERE.
By giving just a few minutes of your time you can help send a clear message to President Obama and his Administration that protecting online poker players’ through sensible consumer protections is good public policy. Please take action today!
Proud to Play,
Senator Alfonse D'Amato
